Ultimate Staffing is partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer of advanced motion control and power electronics products to identify an experienced Power Electronics Engineering Manager.
Location: Camarillo, CA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: $175,000 - $210,000 DOE

Position Overview
This leadership role is responsible for managing the electrical engineering team while providing technical direction for the development of high-power motor drives, power conversion systems, and related hardware platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership skills with deep expertise in power electronics design, analog controls, thermal management, EMI/EMC, and product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop Electrical Engineering and PCB Engineering teams
- Provide organizational oversight for the Mechanical Engineering function
- Define technical strategy and architecture for power electronics products
- Oversee development of motor drives, power conversion systems, gate drive circuits, sensing, and protection circuitry
- Lead design reviews, risk assessments, and engineering best practices
- Drive improvements in product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and performance
- Collaborate closely with Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, and Applications Engineering teams
- Support product launches, sustaining engineering, troubleshooting, and escalations
Qualifications
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering required; Ph.D. preferred
- 10+ years of power electronics design experience (15+ years preferred)
- Previous engineering leadership or people management experience
- Expertise in analog control systems, power conversion, and industrial motor drives
- Experience with high-voltage/high-current power electronics, EMI/EMC mitigation, and thermal design
- Proficiency with SPICE and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink or Mathcad
- Strong understanding of PCB design constraints for high-power applications
- Experience working in cross-functional product development environments
Preferred Experience
- Industrial motor drives and servo systems
- Power semiconductors (Si, SiC, GaN)
- Magnetics design and power conversion
- Embedded systems and hardware/firmware integration
- Regulatory compliance and safety standards (UL/IEC)
- Thermal management and cooling systems
